TAPESTRY IN

HAND LOOM

A loom is an instrument that helps weavers create a tapestry, fabric or carpet by interweaving the warp and weft.

The warp is the basis of all pieces, with its perpendicular vertical threads it delimits the maximum width of the piece from the beginning of the process, also providing the necessary tension for the passage of the horizontal threads that will cross the warp and give the length of the piece.

I love making these pieces, as they allow me to create an infinite number of shapes and sizes. After all, it's really cool to build your own loom (isn't it? lol) .

As the entire process is done manually, production time can vary depending on the size of the piece, from hours to days or months of dedication.

TAPESTRY IN FRAMES

I don't use a loom for these pieces and the work is already done on the frame where it will be placed in the end, requiring delicacy and a lot of patience.

Their frames can be rectangular and circular, made of materials such as wood and ceramic.

DYED TAPESTRY

The variety of possible results in tapestry is very large, one of the most interesting for those who like organic pieces is the dyeing of raw materials, which bring a rustic and elegant air to the environment.

This technique is done on a fabric base and has stitches made one by one with a needle designed for the technique. It can be used on floor and wall tapestries, cushions and even furniture upholstery.
